Winterviews Communities: #FoodParty

To celebrate 13 weeks of winter, Winterviews is conducting interviews with various book and author communities across the internet. Once a week, we’ll interview a new community to find out what makes that community great.

Join us on the hashtag #13Winterviews, or join in the fun with tonight’s community spotlight #FOODPARTY on twitter! Without further ado, lets get down to the interview!

Can you tell us a little bit about #FOODPARTY?

#FoodParty is a twitter hashtag game that is open to all writers, readers, lovers of hashtag games, etc. We encourage our participants to share everything from poetry that include the weekly word or lines from their stories, to gifs that express their thoughts about the weekly theme. Our main goal is to have a fun interactive community that draws people together.

What prompted the idea to start #FOODPARTY?

Fellow author Lexi Miles (@leximilesbooks) and I (@chloequinnbooks) enjoy discussing random topics during meals. So, when we were creating the cookbook #FOODPARTY, we decided to create the #FOODPARTY hashtag to share the fun we have during meals with the community on twitter.

What is unique about #FOODPARTY?

Our Community is open to everyone. All walks of tweeters are welcome to share their thoughts on the theme, or they can post a random thought! We love to foster a friendly environment and allow the participants to post as much as they want.

What three things does someone not know about you or #FOODPARTY?

1) The FOODPARTY hashtag was actually created from the cookbook of the same name. (Okay, I know I stated it earlier, but I’m not too sure if people knew this fact before I put it in this interview, giggles).

2) The cookbook itself contains recipes that are found in the romances written by us (Lexi and Chloe). We sometimes share or post the recipes if they coordinate with the week’s theme.

3) Both of us (Lexi and Chloe) like to participate in the hashtag game. We enjoy reading the other participants’ posts (participants can sometimes see their post retweeted), and we are always grateful to everyone who takes part in the game.

Any advice or quote that you live by?

“Food tastes better when you eat with your family.” That’s what Lexi and I consider our #community to be, family!
